Algarve Real Estate websites have few page 1 positions |

Getting page 1 Google ranking positions is not the easiest task at the best of times, to achieve top Google rankings for a Real Estate site is even more difficult. But before we explain that in more detail, let's briefly cover the basic and most common faults we see every day in many of the Algarve Real Estate sites.
We fully understand that all website owners are proud of their sites, and we know it is very hard for any site owner to accept that his or her site may not be a as good as he or she thought.

The most common mistakes are:
1. The site has no Global Site Name (this is not your company name, it is the internal site name for the use of Search Engines)
2. Meta Tags are wrong or missing
3. Robot txt files are missing or wrong
4. Main menus and sub menus have no Meta Tags or they are wrong
5. Individual pages have no Mata Tags or they are wrong
6. Flash was used for your site ( depending on the level of Flash used it will make top ranking positions very difficult and if a site is made using 100% Flash technology it is simply invisible to Google or any other Search Engine)
7. Alt Text is missing from your images
8. Anchor text is missing
9. Internal Link structures are disrupted
90 % of websites appear to Search Engines as single page websites. Why? Someone forgot to make sure that all individual pages are visible to Search Engines as different pages. Search Engines need to see that each page is different from the next one.
A Real Estate Website relies on being seen, being found by people who look for properties to buy and to sell. People do NOT look at page 3, 4 or 5. If the site is not on page 1 the chances of your properties getting noticed is almost down to NIL.
Keywords and Search Phrases
There are just a few sites which have got it right. The purpose of Keywords and Search Phrases is not to stuff them in the relevant Title Tags, believing that the more we put there, the better it is; Far from it. The overwhelming majority of sites use keywords without any logical connection between content and keywords. This mistake is a grave one and must be addressed as a matter of priority.
Content
having hundreds of properties displayed on your site means nothing to Search Engines. The quantity of properties does not add to the value of your site in the eyes of Search Engines. Please take 5 minutes of your time and look at other Real Estate websites and what type of content they display. Most sites are the same, yes they look different, but at the end of the day they more or less have the same content. They all have an ABOUT US page a Contact Page and maybe even a page or two where the site gives some information on how to buy properties in Portugal. That in principle is it. ALL sites have a lack of quality content.
Whether we like it or not, if we want our sites to perform at the very top we need to take notice of how Search Engines like to see our sites. If we do not implement what they want to see we can't complain that we have no page 1 positions and we can't complain that our websites do not generate enough clients for us.
The problems of sites often start right at the very first page THE HOME PAGE. The way the home page has been used for content and how the content is displayed has really a deep impact on your Search Engine Rankings, especially with Google.
