If you encounter problems with your Mouse it does not mean that it is beyond help or repair. If the cursor starts giving you a problem, by either not working at all, staying at the same spot on the screen, or if it is moving, moves in a stop and start kind of a way, the cause is most likely a ´dirty' mouse.
If you have an older mouse with a roller-ball underneath, take out the ball and give it a good clean. Have a look at the rollers as well. If they have worn out it is best to get a new mouse.
If you have an optical mouse which works with infrared light you may have to clean the lens underneath the mouse.
Always make sure, that your mouse cable is connected with your PC. Check your 'mouse properties'. To make sure, that your mouse is set to the right Settings check the 'Mouse Properties dialoque box' To check, go to the start menu, click on Control Panel after that click on Printers and other Hardware or if your control panel has a special icon just for mouse click on that one. Clicking on Mouse will take you to the 'Mouse Settings Dialoque' box. Just follow the steps, it is easy to understand.
